Going for It.

“It’s going to be okay in the end,” a friend once told me. “And if it’s not okay, don’t fret, it’s not the end.” I’ve never forgotten that.

It got me through miscarriage. Got me through the tenure-track. It helped me during times of stress and struggle. And now, as I embark on this new journey – my Cared Humanity adventure – I’ll be hanging onto that. At least it will be okay.

I can live with that. Between okay and “freaking AWESOME,” I’ll admit I’d like it to go all the way. Why not shoot for greatness?! But if it’s not, that’s okay too. I have everything I need. I’m cared for and I care for people. I have hope and possibility. Today my present is pretty great already.

Much gratitude.
