Taking care of our mind, body and spirit is about self-love and self-compassion, not just self-care

I’m calling deep on my courage as I write what may be my most vulnerable post yet. Breathe in. Exhale. My good friend, Jennifer told me once that one of her favourite songs was One Republic’s I Lived. I listened to it today again, and again. I returned home to read something I wrote to myself last Fall.  I couldn’t keep it to myself. Appreciate life. Appreciate where you are as a person.

I hope these words resonate with you as you read them to yourself.

A love letter to myself:

You imagined a life where worry, doubt, disappointment and expectations did not derail you. You were brave. You were open. You were willing to put your creative energies into your passion.

It will be worth it. Trust me.

You were meant to shine brilliantly, boldly, and beautifully.

Keep trusting in your questions. Keep believing in the process of self discovery. Be authentic and share your words and your mission.

You are not alone, nor do you have to do it all on your own. There are so many women and men now in your life or who will come into your life who will support you. Give yourself permission to receive their guidance and wisdom. You will inspire just by doing what you do and being who you are. Always growing, always learning.

When you doubt, remember your why. You want to live your best, truest life, which is a life full-of-care with family, friends, music, art, fitness, and adventure. Your goals are big and bold. You are remarkable and only you can do what needs to be done.

Draw strength and support from kindred spirits*. Don’t take care for granted. Just care.

Love and with care,
